I suppose you might be able to do it using 7 the TaskKill tool with a syntax similar to:

taskkill /f /im Excel.exe

However, the 6 proper solution would be to ask the developers 5 of the VB.Net and VBA apps to close down 4 Excel properly when they're finished with 3 them (there are questions/answers here on 2 SO describing how to make sure that it's 1 closed down nicely if they don't know how).
